While applying, I only entered the name of my college wasn't asked to enter college email, and hence didn't get any confirmation email. I'm confused as to how it'll be verified that I'm in fact a student. Go to Solution. Spotify uses the SheerID service to verify that you are enrolled based on the school info you provided at sign up. Unless you are signed up with another provider other than Spotify, you should be able to use your current Facebook account. The only difference from your current account and the Student one will be when the payment discount takes effect. On that note, if you are currently paying for Premium through Paypal or Prepaid cards you will need to update your payment type since you cannot pay for the student discount with those pay types. I hope this was helpful!
I’m a college student: do I qualify for this offer?
Welcome to Reddit,
Spotify is one of the best music streaming services out there, and you can grab a premium account for half price if you qualify for a student discount. The Spotify student discount provides you with a full premium account, with no restrictions, and also gets you access to any extras that are currently on offer. The requirements for Spotify's student discount are very specific, so it's easy to tell if you qualify or not. If you are currently enrolled at a US Title IV accredited college or university, and you're at least 18 years old, then you qualify. Four year universities, community colleges, and other accredited institutions all count, as long as they are US Title IV accredited.
